Egg Dance

Ceramic Sculptures + Animated Video

Egg Dance is a stop-motion video depicting dancing egg sculptures that took several weeks to hand-build, bisque-fire, glaze, and glaze-fire. Each egg sculpture has a name and a distinctive shape. Over 300 photos were taken in order to create the stop-motion animated video, which was shown to classmates at the end of the project.

The sculptures were displayed as part of the Repeat, Repeat, Repeat exhibition at USC Roski's Lindhurst Gallery which showcased design projects from the spring 2020 semester. The stop-motion video was also displayed in the same gallery as part of the Window of Fantasy exhibition in September 2019, which showcased 3D art from Roski's various sculpture and ceramics classes.
